The PMLD curriculum provides pupils with a range of multi- sensory opportunities which are tailored to meet individual needs. There will be a balance of group and individual work and pupils will have opportunities to experience a range of activities including sensory stories, music, sensory art, rebound therapy, intensive interaction and hydrotherapy, for example.

Where appropriate, pupils will have opportunities to experience inclusive activities with their peers.

The following non subject specific areas form the core learning opportunities:

Communication and InteractionCognition

Physical Development

A thematic approach will be used to support the above areas and will be taken from the appropriate rolling programme depending on the key stage of the class.
