ROLE OT THE PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Children and young people can be referred to the Physiotherapist for assessment, advice and intervention if it is required.  Children can be referred if they have restricted or painful movement, mobility or functional activity.  In physiotherapy we can advise on activities to enable the child or young person to achieve their full movement potential.  This may be by a personal exercise positioning programme for home and school or by individual or group time in school to assist the child or young person with their programme.  The department links closely with the Orthotic department at the Countess of Chester Hospital around any specialist footwear needs that the child may have. Julie, Gill and Laura are always pleased to arrange to discuss the needs of the children.
