Welcome to Juniper class

Hello and welcome to Juniper! We love to have fun, mostly through music and sensory based activities.

We really enjoyed our sensory story - Naala. Pupils became more confident exploring each of the smell, touch, listening and looking experiences. We have recently begun a new story 'Sid's smelly feet' which the class find very funny!

Our Forest School sessions with Pete have taken us to Delamere Forest, where we have been taking part in the Forest Olympics! We also love to choose our favourite breakfast snacks at the local cafe. Here students have the opportunity to make choices and communicate this to staff at the Cafe. We are very proud of how well the pupils make their orders, wait patiently, how well they co/self-regulate if the cafe is busy and then tidy up after themselves. We have continued to use public transport into Chester, and of course a Mcdonald's is a must! Over the term we are continuing to work on visiting different places, watch this space!

The class have been taking turns during music sessions, allowing everyone to hear their favourtie songs being played on guitar as the class choose their favourite instruments to play along to. We love to dance around the room as we play, it's a lot of fun!

Some of our pupils have helping around school with recycling, delivering shopping to classes and even helping with music sessions in Olive and Laurel. This is a great way for pupils to build confidence interacting with less familiar staff and pupils and becoming more and more independent around school. You may also notice from our pictures a very cute dog! Her name is Bailey and some of our pupils help to look after her by feeding her and taking her for walks.
