We currently have a vacancy for a 2 Co-opted Governors, one Finance Governor.
Our Governing Board currently consists of 8 members and is a positive and welcoming team. We meet every half term (6 times a year) currently virtually via Teams at 7pm on a weekday evening (approx every 6 weeks for a couple of hours) As well as attending meetings there is a reading/training requirement and whilst we cannot currently visit school we make contact with our link staff members via email/phone/Teams on a regular basis.
We have a strong school vision and high expectation of our pupils attaining their full potential, whatever that may be based on their individual needs. We have recently introduced a new curriculum to improve the pupils independence skills and ultimately their lives as they leave school to head to college or supported living. It is an exciting time of change at school and we are already being asked to share our new curriculum success with other special schools.
Governors are welcomed by all the staff and children to take as much a part in school life as they would like, or are able to, and Dee Banks really feels like a positive community all working to provide the best education and opportunities for our pupils.
We are currently looking for people with a wide range of experiences in business or the public sector to add to our Board, which currently is very education/parent member focussed. We’d like to bring these new skills and experiences to open up our thinking, especially as we face the challenges which the current pandemic brings. Thanks for considering our opportunity. Please get in touch if you’d like further information.
