Outdoor Learning in Full Bloom!
As the weather has become brighter and warmer, our class has been making the most of every opportunity to enjoy learning outside.
For our pupils, outdoor learning offers a fantastic way to explore, engage and develop key skills in a relaxed and stimulating environment. Over the past few weeks, we have been taking more of our activities outdoors, and it has been wonderful to see everyone thriving in the fresh air.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
We have been enjoying regular sessions outside where pupils can move, explore and learn in ways that suit their individual needs. The outdoor space provides valuable opportunities for sensory experiences, communication, and developing independence in a calm, open environment.

Water Play and Creative Arts
Water play has been a particular favourite. Pupils have loved splashing, pouring, and exploring different containers, supporting both sensory development and fine motor skills. Alongside this, we have been taking our art activities outdoors, giving pupils the freedom to create on a larger scale. From painting to mark-making, the outdoor environment has encouraged creativity and expression in exciting new ways.

PE on the Field
Our PE lessons have moved onto the school field, giving pupils plenty of space to run, stretch and take part in activities in a different setting. Being outdoors has helped boost engagement, and it has been lovely to see the pupils enjoying physical activity, building both confidence and coordination.

Picnic-Style Snack Time
One of the highlights has been taking our snack time outside. We have been enjoying a picnic-style snack where pupils sit together, relax and socialise in the fresh air. This has been a great opportunity to practise communication skills, turn-taking and independence in a fun and meaningful way.

A Positive Impact
Being outdoors has had a really positive impact on the class. Pupils are showing increased engagement, improved mood and growing confidence. The change of environment supports wellbeing and allows learning to happen naturally through play, movement and shared experiences.
We are looking forward to continuing our outdoor learning as the term progresses and making the most of the lovely weather while it lasts.
