Silver DofE Residential Day 1

Residential Day 1

We have had a lovely first day settling in our home for the next few days. We started by having lunch and then unpacking our suitcases in our rooms. First on the agenda today was a site tour which helped us know where everything is and where we will be doing lots of our activities. 

We then embarked on our first expedition walk for our silver dofe. We had a very challenging walk around friars crag. We navigated some different terrain and followed a map which helped us reach the viewpoint. There was also a tricky point when we encountered some sheep on the path!
After our wet and windy walk we made it back in time for a chill before having our tea. 

After tea we relaxed in the sensory room and had some social time in the games room playing pool and watching tv. We finished the evening with a treat in the tuck shop. Definitely a successful first day.
